I don't have a vehicle right now due to a separation and I just learned that I can call ahead for a ride to an from a Dr appointment or dentist appointment, and it's paid for by my Medicaid, great to know! I've cancelled many appointments due to no transportation
I had been cancelling, too, before I found out about this service. Also, due to my PTSD, the "will call" option for Medicaid transportation sometimes made me uncomfortable. I called the insurance provider and was able to get day passes for the area's commuter train/bus system for such occasions. Those are great because I have to track using them, but am not restricted to medical appointments!
I used to take UBER/LYFT everyday and now I take the bus to save a lot of money. It is a lot longer ride, but I save over $400 a month
My car got stolen last year and I can't seem to get a job in town. So now I'm out of work and about to have too give my emotional support animals up because I can't even come up with the money to feed them anymore
