I spend more money eating out than bills if i could cut that out i would be a couple hundred dollars richer.

I try to meal prep so that way it's not too time consuming when making my meals and can easily make my meals at home vs buying fast food

I set aside a specific amount each week that I will use for fast food. Once I use that amount, no more for the week.

I try to stick to a monthly budget for fast food. My father has cancer and I take care for him and I've been eating a lot of takeout lately, so it's been more difficult to stick to than usual.

Totally in agreement. Food is a huge cost overall and needs to be managed well.

Meal planning is so key. Prepping ahead when you can has also helped us. We are often rushed with getting home from work and kids activities/homework it’s tempting to just order in!

Crock pots or slow cookers are great for healthy meals without a lot of time invested. Aldi has really good fresh salsa, throw in a container with boneless skinless chicken breasts in the morning. When you get home shred up the chicken and make burritos adding avocado, lettuce cheese or make some rice to go with it.

I've tried meal prep but don't usually stick to it for long.

It might take a little bit of initial planning, but if you are able to find a set of meals that you can cook easily without too much prep than that might be easier to rotate than to meal prep every week.

I cut down on fast food by using cash only. I save a set amount out of my paycheck and once that cash is gone, that's it.

I’ve thought about an air fryer, wonder how well they work?

Homeade soups can save a lot too even casseroles. The ingredients are cheap and you can freeze leftovers for another time.

My problem is that it is so much easier to drive through fast food, than to bring something from home. It also just makes me feel better for the moment. It's a hard habit to break.
