Everyone will have a different experience. What have been working for me is paying a a small portion every week in addition to my fixed monthly amount. I started on the card I owed the least amount first. Small steps trips big results.

One method that’s good is keeping your credit cards below 30%. Also if you have a loan for example and your payments are $150. You try to pay $20 extra because you know you pay towards the principal. This actually helps me. If in the event you can’t make a payment that extra money you need paying can go towards a payment. This is just an example.
Hope it helps

It is hard when there are so many different factors that affect your credit score but I've learned consistency will eventually pay off!

I can’t have a credit card. I’m not disciplined enough to use it wisely. I’m just trying to save and pay off past debt.

How are student loans going to affect my credit score since they have been in the mix of COVID programs for repayment relief?

what about after bankruptcy? Credit card companies deny every request. What can I do?

If you apply for a new credit card they will lower your credit.

Yep. And if you purchase a car with low credit? You'll receive a million rejection letters from institutions where each and every one of them checked your credit score, and each and every one of those checks lowers your credit. Catch 22. Yet, the car dealer will neglect to tell you that they apply en mass to many institutions simultaneously. They will very casually screw your credit up even further. Going to multiple dealerships? Prepare to be bombarded with rejection letters negatively affecting your credit score.

You can pay into a reverse loan. You take out a loan of $500. Instead of getting the money first, you make weekly, bi-weekly payments of an amount you can do say $50. Each payment on time builds credit. At the end you have paid off the loan and you get your $500 back.

What do you do once you've paid off your loan to continue to improve your credit?

I boosted my credit by charging a small, regularly occurring and necessary monthly expense to a credit card, and then I paid the small charge every month. This method didn’t involve adopting any new debt, since I wasn’t making any purchases I wouldn’t have otherwise. To the best of my ability I didn’t charge anything else each month (I know everyone’s in a different situation and sometimes that may be unrealistic) which helped ensure that I could always make the payment. Over time those payments helped the “payment history” portion of my credit score.
