Has anyone here started a small home business since covid? I'm thinking of maybe doing something small starting off to see how it goes. Any tips or suggestions?

I started pampered chef, they've had their biggest sales in the past few months. Lots of people cooking more at home and some people's stimulus money was "extra". I'm hoping it will help me stop having to live paycheck to paycheck. And hopefully be able to have a savings.

I've had shops on Etsy for years as my main business, it's hard to start there now. @Ebonie R list some stuff here you are good at or interested in and I'll help:)

I wanted to start with body scrubs and waist beads to begin with. After I got a hang of things I wanted to advance to soaps, oils and homemade jewelry.

I’m thinking of investing in a cricut and starting with family shirts and parties! As I have 16 nieces and nephews and I’m the oldest of 7! So plenty more to come!

@Ebonie R. The most challenging part is getting your products seen online. The best way is to drive your own traffic to your shop from Instagram or FB. Etsy is fairly easy to set up shop on but being seen there is HARD. If you are fortunate enough to show up in a search you have to have photos that buyers want to click on, The competition is fierce and you need to be different somehow. I'd suggest watching videos on You tube on Etsy Success and shop set up/branding. If you have a social media following there are videos on how to engage them. Let me if I can help:)

I'm not on FB but FB marketplace may be a better option. I think it's free?

A lot of people have started doing the Starbucks cups with cricut and they have been doing really well.
