How can I build credit when I can't even get approved for a credit card?

Have you tried a secured credit card? That's what I'm doing.

You should not apply for too many cards, because getting multiple credit card can make it more challenging keep track of payment on time, so it can pull down your credit score,

Great forum I agree with the secured card. I didn't know you could ask rental/property manager to report rent payments. I definitely would've done that when I was renting.

this is my manjor problem! I try to get my credit score up to a decent number (600+) but becuase of my high credit usuage, i can't get approved for anymore– but the thing is i've KEPT MY USUAGE DOWN FOR MONTHS. and it STILL denies me :( I just want a better credit score so i can buy a home.
