It's a never ending cycle of failure. You need credit to get ahead but if your credit is already bad it's so hard to fix. And you need credit to get credit to build credit. Adulting is hard.

You can apply for a secured credit card which requires a cash deposit upfront. This may be a good option to build a credit.

Get a secured card with a small balance ($300) use it to pay a recurring bill. Then pay it off at the end of the month or before your credit card bill generate.

There are quite a few secured credit card applications on credit reporting sites.

Same as stated above I did a secured card with $200 in a year it helped me get a small $300 credit card and now I throw away preapprovals. Also some banks especially credit unions do secured loans in other words you say you need $500 then they divide that by 12 months you prepay every month and at the end of the year they give you the $500 even though you really paid it upfront it shows up on your credit report as a bank loan and paid in full. It helped.

You can try for a secured card. I tried with no real hope and I was approved.

Secured cards will rebuild your credit. I opened a Citi credit card for $500 and after 4 months my credit score was sufficient enough to qualify me for $5000 with Navy Federal Credit Union. Patience for paying your bills on time is the key.

I can understand a secured card would definitely help, but what if you don't have the money to put towards a secured card. It would be alot ready it the deposits were 50-100 that's a little easier to swing

If you have someone you know that will add you as an authorized user on their card…it will improve your score. I did this for my friend and allowed them to piggy back on my card. I did not let them charge anything on it. But I faithfully paid it. Jumped their score and now they have their own credit cards with higher limits than mine and just like that I dropped them off my card.

Make sure you pay your bills on time. Avoid collections. Get a credit card spend less than 30 percent on it. Pay on time. Etc

I've found that adding some success with opening an account with a furniture store that reports to the credit bureaus and make on time payments each and every month. I have also used the Experian boost feature that tracks your utility payments and some cell phone payments.

I am having the same probably because if I had the money for a secured deposit I wouldn't need the credit card In the first place

My credit is decent but my husband has a lot of work today but can’t get approved for more than $250 in credit.

If you're a college student, apply for a student card. If not, secured cc's are the best route because you can eventually product change to a regular credit card

I had the same issue until I get a secured credit card to start building my credit.
