Should I reach out to the creditors and set up payment plans? It’s time for me to fix it but I really don’t know where to start?

Between Chimes Credit Builder secured credit card and Kikoff Lendings Credit Account, I increased my score by 64 points in 2 months. I can't express enough how much Kikoff has helped me. Best part is it's only $10 for revolving credit of $500. Paying $2.00/month towards that $10 and when that's paid off, use the credit to purchase an ebook related to financial health, career paths, hobbies etc.. for approx $20 for example, and 10 months reported to the bureaus and increase in score.

I've had 2 Secured credit cards for over a year now. When will they unsecure them and increase my credit limit?

I've found it is a very slow process. I've focused on making payments on time and also keeping my balances on credit cards fairly low

Use Kikoff (love this one), Chime Credit, One Financial Credit Saver Program, Clerkie App Credit Program. With all the above, I've increased my score from low 400s to 594 in under a few months.

I agree with Vanessa P, over the years I have added credit cards to increase my utilization and score and now have an abundance of cards I do not need or use, want to close them but recommendation is not to because of length of time. But, I am willing to take the hit because when I am disciplining myself to save and pay for large purchases (i.e. furniture) with cash so that I have no more than four cards (two major credit, two home improvement store) if need to be used.

Agree with Jovonia S. 100%. Very good tips from so many of you!

If you are a member of Navy Federal Credit Union, they have a program that is geared to helping a person build or rebuild their credit. I have been using it since Jan 2022 and my credit have went up over 20 points so far.

Only charge what you can pay off in full. Always remember deals always come back. Just have patience. Save until you can pay your purchase in full.

This really does help. I always make sure I can pay off my credit cards every month so that they don't carry a balance. It does take patience to save for what you want, but after you do it makes you feel good that you can pay the bill off and not have to worry about carrying a balance on your credit cards.

Remember to get a credit report at least once a year. You can get a free credit report from each of the credit reporting agencies (e.g., TransUnion, Experian) once a year. If you find a mistake, you can dispute it and have them correct it to possibly increase your score.

I pay off my credit cards balance off within a week of using them. I almost have a perfect score.
