Mine is $4,000 loan, about $7,000 between three credit cards & every time you think your closer to cleaning your debt bam something else happens and dig a deeper hole.

Have you contacted the financial counseling here? They should be able to make a plan for you, go to the home page and sign up for free. Knowledge is power.

Just got divorced and trying to save enough money to buy a house so my grandma can move in with me but I have 15000 in credit card debt from my divorce and I don't know what I am supposed to do, I got furlough for a couple months and just started back at my job last week but can't get any over time.

You guys can all do it! Some companies will negotiate payment plans or defer interest, especially now during the pandemic. Good luck!

i know that i am not the only one with debt and im sure its not as much as others on here but looking at all these stories i see that its hard for everyone but they are making the best they can to get out of debt. and i admire them.

Hi Tiffany,

If you know how much you spend for your family in a typical month, I think the usual recommendation is three times that amount. Another way to figure it if you or members of your family are working would be three times your family's total monthly income.

I settled a debt for less than what it was for and got a letter of deletion but that debt is still on my credit, what should I do?

Debt is something we get in when we tell ourselves we need material things now and allow the need to control our mental state instead of planning and saving for things. I have gotten out of debt a few times and gotten back in with the thought of I can build my credit, but the greatest gift is being debt free. Let's stay the course.

My tip would be putting all your debt together or at least the most you can. Apply for a personal loan and you can pay it off quicker with a lower interest rate
