I have been wanting to save for awhile but im on SSI it can be a little tricky only making 700 a month but I just start out saving 1$ a day

good idea. I hope to get there next month. I want to save up for a secure credit card. That way I can begin to build my credit from the goose egg that it is currently.

I'm on Social security which is 805 dollars. I managed to get my living expenses low. This way I'm still able to save every week. I'm on SSI so getting money for food is a tremendous help. I go to farmers market and they double your money so I'm able to eat healthy 😋. If any other money comes in I save it.

When my check is deposited each month my checking account automatically transfers $25 into my savings.

Agreed! No dollar amount is too small to put towards a savings account. Keep up your $1 a day routine.

Yes,any is better than nothing! How about a SSI forum on saver life? It would be nice to be able to connect with others that are older and have the same type of living and scenario as older individuals to share ideas.!

I worked for awhile after retirement but the place I was working at didn't hold taxes out, so I had an external place hold my taxes out of every payment, after filing this year it's still in processing mode and I just bet that my side gig is the biggest holdup, I stopped doing my side gig so that my taxes I hope will sail right on thru next year, and honestly if you don't have a degree it's not worth the low wages that retirees are offered, my opinion. As Credence Clearwater sang, I ain't no fortunate one.

A little savings s better than none.. Do what you can.

I've invested in a six month CD for a higher yield.

Saving little amounts is better than no saving at all. Great job!

I agree with Joel S., I would love a Social Security forum on SaverLife for us older individuals to perhaps learn more about Saving more for those of us who receive limited income.

Save something on a consistent basis and you will be amazed at how your savings GROW.
