Due to covid there’s not many jobs because people are scared to work or open up this business

Budget on a fixed income means you have to pay what’s necessary first and save the rest so when you receive more money it will add on top of that

I think budgeting is always hard but is especially hard in these times when more money is going out than coming in.

I live in Mass. From what I've seen there are a lot more entry level jobs currently available since covid. I think it is because our schools and daycares have been closed for so long that the employees that held a lot of jobs are unable to work.

@Teresa - the COVID-19 Support button on saverlife is good for that too. And it narrows down your aid when you give your zip code

It's been hard to save anything since this pandemic hit my family and others everywhere really hard. I'm the only one working and it's hard to make it stretch let alone save when it's only 1 income coming in and my wife hasn't been able to collect unemployment since she started her claim in April 17.

Look for creative ways to save, sell gently used things in the garage or basement. If you ever wanted to make a lifestyle change stop smoking or drinking soda you'd be surprised how much money you saved

Make a list of your wants and needs, and your priority should always be your needs rather than your wants

Cooking meals at home has saved me and my family a lot of money during this time, and we’ve made healthier choices.

It's hard ,especially now but set goals and savings and stick to them. Less splurging and try to cook at home as much as you can

coupon using is very helpful in saving money, shop sales, buy in bulk if it can be afforded, use leftovers, going to food pantries is a great help also.

I fill like if you plan out your monthly meals that could save you a lot of money and budgeting and you should come out on top.

I have been in the military for many years and with that my income is fixed with a small increase annually hardly able to meet inflation. These are a few of many tips that I have used to get the most out of the money I make.

  1. Stop paying attention to what other people think of you.(I have seen countless people dump money into expensive cars they do not need or going out multiple times a week straining their budget but make them look “cool” to the people around them)
  2. Reduce your monthly bills. (Drop your subscriptions, lower your phone/internet/cable packages, refinance high interest or long term loans if you have reasonable equity built up)
  3. Reduce your high interest credit cards.(multiple companies offer a 0% interest rate on balance transfers for 12-16months with a small payment of 3% upfront. This can save you a lot of money in the long run if you have high balances on credit cards)
  4. Find cheaper alternatives to purchase your meals and start enjoying leftovers. (Many grocery stores are far more expensive than others for the same products or “brand name” goods which can be substituted with cheap store brand alternatives. As well as purchasing strictly meals and not snack foods.
  5. As Oanh P. said understand the difference between wants and needs and be strict on your spending based on this judgment
