My student loans are currently in collections. There is a one time rehabilitation program you have to complete & then I'll be eligible for financial aid & student loan forgiveness.

Hoping that they forgive student loans for $10,000. And have another stimulus check.

You may want to look into refinancing your student loans if you are still employed full time and have consistent income.

I would suggest going to a company like Great Lakes based in Wisconsin and see is loan consolidation rates are lower than what you're paying. Also look into an IBR (Interest Based Rate).

I think I'll be paying on my student loans until I die. However, I've been in education for 15 years, and I just started the Public Service Loan program last year, so hopefully on 9 more years of payments to go. I would not recommend taking out student loans unless you plan on getting a high paying job. For both my children, I cautioned them against it. It's better to pay as you go. The Covid-19 student loan forbearance has actually helped me breathe a bit. If I ever won the lottery, they'd be the first thing I'd pay off!

Thankfully my student loans were about 4000$ and with the forgiveness from the government I was lucky enough and able to get it paid down and started on saving for my first home.

Not having interest on my loans right now is really helping. I'm finally able to make a dent on my payments.
