How do you save on groceries 🤔. I use the Ibotta and Fetch apps, follow weekly sales app Flipp. I also try to eat down my pantry, refrigerator and freezer. I keep a perpetual list for grocery items w/prices I buy regularly on my phone and specific stores with any specialty items .

I made a list of all my family's meals and then separated them into categories, like rice, pasta, soups, sides, etc., and created a menu. Then I figured out approximately how much it costs to make each one and added that info. Now it's easy to choose what to make each week, and it's easy to budget because I know approximately how much I need to spend. I check the weekly sale ad for my favorite grocery store and keep that in mind when deciding what meals to make for the week. I also keep in mind what I've got stashed in my pantry from previous sales. It really helps keep me within a budget.

I also use Ibotta and Fetch. I use Receipt Hog and Receipt Pal, too, but it takes forever to earn $5. I love Shopkick, which is like a grocery scavenger hunt. You get points for scanning items on their list, which you can exchange for gift cards, including Amazon GCs. Plus you get rebates (in points) if you buy certain products. Sometimes their rebates make things really cheap or free, plus you can combine it with Fetch, Ibotta, and coupons! If I go to Walmart or Target, I can often earn $5 in one trip just by scanning, though it adds a lot of time to my shopping trip.

Swagbucks, MyPoints, and Inbox Dollars offer grocery rebates, too. The rebates vary from 2 cents to the full price of an item. Of course, they give you points instead of cash, but you can exchange them for gift cards, including Amazon and PayPal. If you find a coupon or a rebate for the same items on Ibotta, Fetch, ShopKick, etc., you can combine them for even more savings.

I forgot to mention that you can print coupons from SB, MP, and IBD. All 3 are owned by the same company, so they're the same, and the coupons are from Coupons.com. The bonus is that you earn 1 cent (in points) for each coupon you print, even if you just save them as a .pdf. Sometimes they offer double points, so if there are 50 coupons, you earn $1 just for saving them as a pdf, which you can delete if there aren't any you can use. If you actually redeem the coupon in a store, you get another 25 cents added to your account, but it takes about 4-6 weeks for the points to show up. Since there are 3 coupons to a page, I often end up printing a few that I can't use, so I leave them in the store next to the product in case someone else can. That way, I get a surprise 25 cents in my account every once in a while, and it helps pay for the paper and ink I used.
