I think there's no way. Both candidates want to be the one who "did something/got money to the people."

(Doesn't help that the bill in progress is complicated and has more wrinkles than just stimulus money to the people, which is what people are focused on. Both parties want to get money to the people, but the other programs attached to the bill are delaying it…It's aggravating.)

It's becoming more and more clear that the candidates and existing members of Congress do not care about the American people as a whole. If they did, another stimulus check would have already been received.

I heard they wont make a decision until after election Day.

They are trying to pass it now. But maybe not before the election.

Update from CBS News…because of the current recess timing, it is unlikely to happen pre-election. ("Senators adjourned on Monday and are not scheduled to return until November 9, impeding progress on a new stimulus bill.")

Pelosi is trying to say things are close, but given the recess…I don't see how it can happen pre-election.

Yea but the politicians screwed us yet again.

Refused to make it a needed $2,000 so they could funnel money to foreign countries and to their pals like the board of the Kennedy Center that's been closed for months. And they also reduced the benefit to folks on SNAP who get less than the max benefit by making it a percentage increase instead of increasing to max benefit of $194 for a single person. That would be the working poor and those in some states who don't qualify for Federal income assistance but are still food insufficient.

I've been hearing that it will be $1,400 and we should see this sometime in March.

Too little, too late, too many unnecessary delays.

They need to pass a stand alone $2k check ASAP. Cost - under $600 billion not $2 trillion. Then let's move on! End the shutdowns and let people get back to work.

This worthless impeachment scam is just a stall and a smokescreen so we won't know what's going into the stimulus that we'll be paying for later.
