It's hard to do, but things like making a shopping list and buying store brands for some items can help. Using leftovers and cutting food waste can also help.

Take a look at your spending in each category in your budget to determine which areas you are going over. You may need to reevaluate how much money is allocated to each category in your budget or cut spending for some of the variable categories.

Additionally, you could move to a cash system where you only keep the budgeted amount of cash in certain categories like groceries, entertainment, personal spending. Then once that money is spent for the budget cycle it is gone.
