In order to build credit, you need credit.

Always utilize your credit cards but keep track of your spending. You should not be using beyond 30% of your credit limit for each card. Pay off in full every month (or set auto pay off in full).

Do not close your oldest credit accounts. Keep them alive by using them once in a while.

And just use them on one of you monthy bills and then pay your credit card like you just paying that bill every month…..don't go shopping! You will build credit fast. Try a secured card or an account like Self Lender.

In order to build a credit. You first apply for a secured credit card and always pay your full balance by the due date.

Whatever credit accounts you have, pay in full and on time always. Only take out credit you will be able to repay.

Start with small cards and pay them off quickly and build up

I just started using SELF. You pay monthly payments into a CD and at the end of the 24 month period you get your money back and build your credit at the same time. After 3 month months of on time payments you can get a credit card through them also.

Paying your loans and credit in full, and never having late payments.

I use the self credit building app and it is amazing. It’s an easy sign up process and it gives you reliable options for what’s best for you financially for you to make a monthly payment to build your credit!

Go to your bank and ask for a secured loan and pay it off on time

Definitely paying on time whether it's the minimum or more, that is key. Delinquent (late) payments can hit your credit hard.

I feel like I'm running in circles trying to pay off a line of credit i obtained for my house projects. I can't seem to get ahead and I'm 60 days behind. I've been trying to build my credit for over 5 years since my divorce!

I’m been working on my credit and I’ve noticed I have more hard inquiries than anything. So now I’m focusing on that.

I have been working on my credit for the last 8 months or so. I realized that every time you apply for a credit card or loan, you take a hit on your credit score. So now I have to make sure not to apply for anything new. So my credit can come back from the hard credit pulls.

Apply for a couple of secured credit cards, a personal loan, a store card such as Macy's or Best Buy, and a gas card. Then make sure to use them only for your needs and pay them in full when you receive your statements.
