I have been making payment to my small fingerhut acct, and Danials jewelry and it has been helping my scores substantially.Creating a diversified credit portfolio is very important, I now see no credit is almost the same as bad credit.

How much should a person pay on there debt each month? Or is there a percentage of your earnings you should use each month to?

In eight months time I took my credit score from 5:20 all the way to 790 now because of this and I'm afraid all my hard work has gone to not

If you really want your score to jump pay 2 payments a month. All you have to do is pay the minimum but when it shows you making 2 payments you will be surprised at how quickly your score starts rising. I heard it on a commercial and tried because mine was bad, and it did really work!

I am working on my credit score. I just got a credit card that wasn't secured.

I've had two secured credit cards for 3 months now. When is it a good time to apply for a unsecured one?

by paying the minimum doesn't work, paying a little extra is always good if you have the means for it

I try to only buy what I can pay off every month that way I never pay interest and my credit score is maintained. I also have a cc that gives cash back for purchases. By paying it off every month (so no interest charges), I make about $200-300 a year off the company. I like that!

Making a payment before the due date and again before the statement end date can help your score rise. As always, pay on time and minimize applying for new credit so you don't have too many inquiries.
