Does anybody have any recommendations for good balance transfer cards for someone with a fair credit score?

While Chase Slate seems to be an ever-present option for 0% APR credit card balance transfers and no balance transfer fees, I don't think you can transfer balances from other Chase credit cards. Doctor of Credit currently has a list of about 20 or so credit cards that could have 0% APR for balance transfers (depends on creditworthiness) and no balance transfer fees; search "balance transfer". Note that many of the nationwide credit card issuers pulled their 0% APR offerings, so most of these are with credit unions.

Also following. With the recent actions taken by credit lenders it will be interesting to see new information.

I'm starting to hear about a credit union with a credit card offer where they pay you a percentage of the balance transfer amount instead of charging a balance transfer fee. Not sure what interest rate they charge yet.

I can't seem to find the Chase Slate application online. Any other recommended cards with no transfer fee?

@Cat B., try this list from Doctor of Credit.

So all-in-all, it looks like Credit Unions are probably the best bet for balance transfer moves - thank you

Yup credit unions are the best. They even gave me a low-interest debt consolidation loan. Question: should I pay off the loan and wipe out my savings, or make the monthly payments with interest?

I think the answer depends on a few things specific to your situation. Consider the interest rate and the balance of the loan. You should have an emergency fund in place to cover the unexpected, so if depleting your savings also depletes your emergency fund, you may want to delay paying off the loan. I've seen plenty of situations where people depleted savings to pay off loans and had to immediately take out other loans to cover the unexpected.

I hope people are still able to find these 0% APR, no-fee balance transfer offers if they need/want them. When things were going well, it seemed like they were all over the place. Now, their availability has been significantly reduced.
