I dont know if your in Burlington Vermont, but we have a car place called "Good News Garage" its a place that donates cars to families in need. Depending on your situation, it could be completely free or very small prices. If your nearby, its definitely someplace u should check out. If your not in Vermont, then maybe look into talking with people about similar organizations in your area. If your comfortable, you can ask local churches for resources, or unemployment agencies. Do some google searches for your area for Donated Cars, Families in Need for example. Hope this helps you, and sorry i cant be of more help.

I feel your pain on the being without a car situation. I'm there is well. Because of this pandemic many of our fellow citizens have financially broke to the point of no recovery. I lost my job, thankfully I was able to obtain another one. Talk about starting over, my new job is the same job I had when I was 15 years old, sacking groceries. Clearly our government isn't don't anything for us because while everyone was suffering they were more worried about votes instead of lives,

I’m in the same situation. I have a car but it’s broke down and no means to fix it.

The pandemic should have taught us all a lesson, no matter what salary we make…..SAVING is an essential part of life. Yes, today is different, but the lessons our parents and grandparents tried to teach us about that they followed during the Great Depression, the 60's & 70's when technology was not around and many of them worked as domestics and custodians for a wage of $1.50 an hour can be applied today.
