You put in your zip code and a list of resources will appear. If you don't apply though you won't get help. The federal government has given money to states who in turn utilize nonprofits, etc. to distribute funding. Even if you owe back rent for months it will be paid. Usually asks you to tell how Covid-19 pandemic has affected you financially and asks for information like driver's license, state ID, social security #, etc. Just apply and fill out the best you can. You can explain more when contacted. And be proactive and find out who handles funding and call also. If need help your city or county will list contact information for that. Resources include help with past rent, help getting into a home with security deposit and a # of months rent like 3 months, food, employment assistance, lots more. Please do yourself a favor and spend energy doing this that you usually spend worrying. There is help out there. Third stimulus should be signed by President Biden around March 14. I heard this on news yesterday. Biden is going to get $1400, 3rd stimulus passed. If you didn't receive 1st or 2nd stimulus or neither you must file for it on 2020 tax return as a tax credit even if you don't have to file income tax or didn't pay any. There is an IRS form that can be found at www.irs.gov for filing for tax credit. You can get free assistance as well on the same website. Just put keywords in and search at www.irs.gov. Ask for help at local nonprofits if you are not computer savvy or from friends, etc. The sooner you apply the faster you receive. Don't give up people. Help yourself and get busy and again please be proactive!! God bless everyone!!
