Depending on your financial situation, I would start with $5 a week and increase from there. Also, create a budget to view your spending habits and financial situation. This would help in determining if there is extra money that can go into savings. If the savings is automatically deposited, it makes it easier. The important thing is to get started saving.

Check out first tech federal credit union, they have a kids saving account at 5% up to 1k.

One way to save is to make an automatic transfer from your checking account to saving account everytime you get paid. I can be as low as $10.00 per pay check. Since it is automatic, you dont have to do anything on your part and you dont even notice but the savings keep adding every pay check and before you know, it is a nice chunk of change.

I setup direct deposit to my savings through my employer. Start off with an amount you are comfortable with and increase it as you earn more or pay off debts.
