You may want to set up a budget. With a budget you will be able to see areas that you can cut/trim down that will allow you to save. Additionally, you may want to make savings a priority by doing this first. You can have a portion of your paycheck direct deposited into a separate savings account or have reoccurring transfers to your savings. Do not worry if you have to start off small because as long as you are consistent your savings will grow.

Some of the things I do to save money is buying store brands for sugar, salt, oil, eggs, milk, etc. Instead of buying coffee or donuts outside, I make my coffee. Walmart sells a pack of honey buns or donut sticks of probably 6 in a box. Sometimes I eat cereal bars for breakfast. I no longer eat out a lot. I just bring my own lunch I cooked. If I feel lazy I just make me a sandwich. If I do eat out I try to go once or twice a month and I get something from the dollar menu. Also I just learned that online banking pays a higher interest than a bricks and mortar bank( chase, Wells Fargo, etc), which usually pays .01 of interest compare that to online savings account that can pay between 1-1.2%. You can find other things cutting back like cable that are not a necessity but a want. You can look for another phone provider where you paying lesser. Just see this as just being temporary way of living. Hope this helps some of you or gives you some ideas for saving or cutting back.

I am not sure if you are doing this already but you may want to set up a budget. With a budget you will be able to see areas that you can cut/trim down that will allow you to save. Additionally, you may want to make savings a priority by doing this first. I have a portion of my paycheck direct deposited into a saving account at a different back than my checking account. Do not worry if you have to start off small as you are consistent your savings will grow.

I'm in agreement with a budget to help see where you can save money. However, in all honesty how much you can save is also dependent on your income and where you live. So, simply put it is likely more money will need to be made. There are other threads on this forum with possible side hustles to supplement your income.

Set a budget ,stick to it ,pay yourself first and cut back on small things you can go without. Make your own coffee ,pack your lunches and if a store is close enough ,walk instead of driving. It all really does add up in the end.

Get a large can and open a small hole on top. Put all your coin change there, and don't open it until full. Then open it, count the coins and deposit in a Mutual Fund account.

You didn't mention how much free time you have.

If you have the time to put into it as a side gig I'd suggest is using point earning programs like MyPoints, Swagbucks, Fetch and such.

In the past month I've probably made $500 just from uploading store receipts of things I was buying anyway and doing online surveys. On a slow day I'd make $5-$10 with little effort!

The surveys do get tiresome and I'm ready for a break.

Another way for some easy money is by promotions for new bank accounts and brokerage accounts, some with very modest terms. There are many with little to no major deposit or Direct Deposit commitments. Take Stash for example. Put in $5 and they will give you $5 and their monthly fee is as low as $1. And if you sign up via MyPoints or Swagbucks you can get enough points for a $25 eGift card with points to spare!

I agree with Maria L. The store brands tend to be cheaper and taste relatively the same. I also only buy what I need for the week when I go grocery shopping. Nothing extra. Additionally, I agree with Asha R. I had to get a part-time job in addition to my full-time job in order to make ends meet and be able to pay off my debt. Sometimes working twice as hard now will give you extra time and peace of mind later.
