I've heard some folks say it hard to save money due to income. I just watched a few Utube videos on that subject and it was very helpful and would suggest to others with this delema.

The biggest hurdle for most people when it comes to saving is actually putting the money in savings account. The second hurdle is not being consistent with savings. Having savings set up via direct deposit or reoccurring transfers makes it easier to save.

I would suggest setting up 2 different savings accounts. One for long term savings like emergency fund, and another for repairs.

I'm planning on opening a savings account before January 1 2021.

I also use something called the money pot which is a charting system that helps weekly or bi-weekly to help save money. It can be used for vacation, Christmas, house or car fund.

I am on a very low fixed income. I want to take my daughter on a nice trip in 2022 when she turns 40. I never dreamed that I would have enough money to do this. So, I started saving about a year ago and so far I've saved about $1200. I do this by giving cash apping money to my trustworthy friend and she has an account for me in her name. I also have a saving acccount but I have found that it is far too easy when I am a little short to take money out. I figure to have about $2400 saved by the time to take our trip (even more if we get another stimulus check) I feel very proud of my accomplishment of saving so much.

What a great idea to give extra money to a friend so that it's not as easy for you withdraw.

Planning to save our stimulus and tax refund but have yet to get either

That's a good start Chelsea; but if you have debt try to wipe out a portion of the smallest one.
