This year has been hard for me. Since February I've been in the streets. Trying to get a job but, not getting any call backs and when I did I would have my bags with me no nice clothes and mind not even showered. Interviews last no longer then 2 mins. I save change when people give. I take in recycleables. And make enough for a cheap motel room once a month if I'm lucky two. My family doesn't want to help cause I'm gay. Since I been in the streets I've been beat up many times to the point if anymore impact to my left side of my face I can go blind. I have a burn scar on my left side from being dragged on. I have a lil bit of clothes no blanket no jacket and it's really cold at night here in Southern California. Every night I hope I don't wake up and when I do I cry. Why? I'm not sure anymore. I was walking over a bridge on my birthday (11-11) stood there and told myself here's my ending. No fence from stoping me. A Metrolink was coming here was my chance. I was stuck couldn't move a muscle until the train went by. I fell to my knees and cried screaming this isn't fair. I get told it gets better or God has better plans for you keep the faith. When does it get better? I've been sober now for 7 years and I'm at the edge of picking up again. Am I asking or wanting something good to happen or am I not worth the happiness the love having a smile etc? What's wrong with me that the bad keeps happening and the good happens to does who do bad. Why can't I just give up?

You should join Some community like a support group. You’re in SoCal…you have a phone, there are opportunities here. There are moments that you are at your lowest, but I believe that everybody has a chance to bounce back. There are entry jobs that are very high Paying that requires no experience, sales job, apprenticeships, parking valet, etc. check your local city hall or online with your phone. Go retail if you have to. I would use snagajob, indeed, zip recruiter. Good luck!

I sent this link to SaverLife directly, hoping they can help somehow. Other options are auntbertha.com or call 211 for resources. Here in Asheville we have a program that helps with securing jobs while at the shelter. SoCal must have something like that?

You sound like a wonderful person, please don't give up. If you want to post your zip code here I will try to find help for you. Hang in and know that you are loved.

Check in and let us know how you're doing, still willing to help if I know your location.

Alejandro I wish I could help you. Sounds like you are much stronger than most people. Don't give up. Go to the nearest public library and search online for places that can help you. I know the hours at the library have been shortened because of Covid, but go there everyday. Join Facebook groups in your area, there are usually ones for the city or town you live in. Post that you are looking for odd jobs. You can even post you are looking for returnable cans and bottles to help make ends meet. Some the previous suggestions are good too. You could even try to volunteer some where, so you can meet kind, helpful people. Churches are a good place also, search ones that are accepting of LGBT. Pick a church that works for and attend. Remember bad things happen to people every day, it's a matter of finding the support to get you through it. Prayers and good vibes coming your way.

I want to give up to. Single mom 2 disabled kids. And my son just got covid second time. I feel like I can’t catch a break I feel my health declining. It’s so hard to be unable to work as directed by a doctor. Hope this passes soon.

Tell your story. Do not give up. The world never gives you more than you can handle, even if you think you can't. That's probably why you didn't jump, why you haven't picked it back up again. Because you are STRONGER than you think. Maybe a typical job isn't what was meant for you. Maybe you were meant to do something even better. Obviously, there's YouTube, but that's so hard to break into. If you're into crypto, there's LBRY. It's like a crypto version of YouTube. Or anything else. I don't know you. But I believe in you. You were strong enough once to become sober. That strength never goes away. You can do this!

In so sorry you feel like giving up. But I wanted to cry reading this because I have been there too last year I was at my rock bottom and now I can't even believe how far I have come. God works in mysterious ways you just have to keep holding on to that faith. for the record my company that I work for due to the pandemic has gone completely remote and we are hiring for full-time empowered time positions so I can get you a job as long as you have Wi-Fi and access to being able to use zoom!!!
I will pray for guidance 🙏 and that you find something bsoon.

If anybody on this post is struggling please feel free to reach out to me. and if anybody is looking for work I may be able to help you because the company I work for has gone completely virtual due to the pandemic period so all work is from home and we are hiring for full-time and part-time so please feel free to reach out and I can get you an interview. The holidays can be very difficult for people and I was in a very dark place this time last year and I am now doing much better thankfully but I know not everybody is especially with the pandemic. Again please feel free to text me my phone is always on. God bless.

I understand completely how you feel. It's hard but you have to just stay positive. Go to a meeting when you feel like using.
