In my experience there are two main reasons "why" people hold themselves back from going into business, more often when there are limiting beliefs in that employment is the only means of creating finances.

#1) The underlying and psychological gap of knowing what it takes. Followed by bridging that gap with taking the necessary action to see it through to its accomplishment.

#2) The lack of Financial Capital presumed is needed to get bright business ideas off the ground.

Find something you love and do it!
I started an ebay business long ago when I had my youngest. I just wanted to be able to stay home with her for a while. I began slow with hard to find fiction books I picked up cheap at flea markets…. within a year I was making enough to cover the mortgage. I stayed home with my youngest until she started school. She is 11 now. Find something you love doing and do it!!!
