What are some of y’all tricks or tips to making your weekly savings goal?

My employer allows multiple direct deposits so I have a portion of my paycheck sent directly to savings. Since that money never goes to my checking account, I do not miss it or feel tempted to spend it. I also have savings as a category in my budget for planned expenses or sinking funds.

Automating your savings as much as you can is a great way to meet your savings goals over any time period. In addition, periodically increase the amount of your automated savings, particularly when you increase your income but even when you don't.

You can start at small increments like biweekly or monthly and have a automated savings account so you don’t see the savings and be tempted to “borrow” from the account
