Several months ago I started saving 10% of income. So grateful that I did. My vehicle needed repairs and I had 2/3rds.of what the cost was. It sure helped considerably. Now I'm going to start putting any extra money away. Thanks SaverLife. 😊

Having an emergency fund is a definite lifesaver and making plans to replenish it just after using the funds is a smart thing to do. The general rule of thumb is to have a $1,000 in the fund, pay down debt and continue to build the fund.

I started allotting 15%of my checks automatically to my savings to help work on reducing spending and start to live below my means. The change has been eye opening as I find my self not doing unnecessary shopping online and spending on things I don’t need and I’ve saved a good bit.

I recently redid the direct deposits for both my and my husband's paychecks so we can have money direct deposited into several accounts: savings, household expenses, bills, play money, and PayPal.

I definitely have an emergency fund just in case an financial emergency happens. For example, my car stopped running one day and I had to take it into a mechanic to diagnose the issue. I found out the starter was bad and I had to shell out almost half a grand for the mechanic to work on it. If I didn't have an emergency fund, I would have been screwed and cannot get to work on every day until the starter have been replaced. This is why I always have an emergency fund for these situations.
